Over a decade ago, the scenic allure of The Finger Lakes captured Burney and Susan. The majesty of the region’s many lakes and waterfalls, the simple elegance of scenic farms and vineyards, marvelous local fruit and produce, and the clip-clop of horses’ hooves beckoned. By mid-December 2002, the Barons moved from Northern California and began to call Penn Yan home. Los Gatos Bed & Breakfast leaves a uniquely satisfying fingerprint on the Finger Lakes Life.
Breakfast at Los Gatos is an event. Guests sit to a country-style meal in the enclosed sun room or dining room. Hot coffee and teas can be enjoyed any time of day. The hosts love when people gather at Los Gatos and have many options for relaxing on the property- a large deck area, gazebo, garden pergola, fire pit, swing and multiple gardens. Speaking of gardens, you will find some very unique gardens. From June to October guests delight in fresh strawberries from the vertical hydroponic garden. You will find vegetables from Artichokes to Zucchini’s growing in straw bales as well as traditional gardening in the soil. Apples, pears, and apricots come from espaliered fruit trees.
Burney and Susan add a personal touch to all they do. Avid astronomy enthusiast Burney finds far-off celestial bodies via telescope or with the naked eye, and he welcomes guests to join. Guests also admire stained glass windows and savor homemade jams and syrups that use local ingredients, all made by Burney and Susan. Personal recommendations for wineries and restaurants, biking and hiking, waterfalls, lakes and museums are Burney and Susan’s specialty. They are happy to help you personalize your Finger Lakes trip.

Two Cabins: Casa Verde and Casa Azul
Not your grandpa’s log cabin. Casa Verde and Casa Azul, our 2 log cabins, boast privacy, charm, and convenience. Both cabins sit at the wood’s edge to offer intimacy and privacy, and each cabin includes: state-of-the-art AC, flat-screen TV, private bath, comfortable Queen size bed, and more. As the quaint, rustic look lends a traditional feel, the cabin’s inside boast an updated comfort. Both cabins are conveniently located steps from our front door. Breakfast, along with the splendors of our deck, gardens, and gazebo, is always near. At Casa Verde and Casa Azul, we invite you to make our cabins your home.
