Evermore Farms

After spending over two decades farming over 200 acres tucked in the hills of Lindley, John and Anne Burns began opening up their farm to others as a way of sharing the beauty of the land and their connection to nature. This working farm is a true family endeavor as John, Anne and their children handle day-to-day operations raising grass-fed beef and sheep while following a philosophy of “Farming in Nature’s Image.”

One weekend every month from May through September (plus Columbus Day Weekend), the family invites others to spend time on the farm learning about everything from lambing and sheep shearing to Earth Regeneration, from the benefits of creating a Sylvopasture to Barnyard Olympics (a family tradition).

Please Note: The farm is not open every day for visits, so please check the schedule of events (which include activities like hay rides and a petting zoo, as well as educational opportunities and a chance to take in the peacefulness of country life) to see when they are open to the public.

Earth Regeneration

Did you know a cow has no top front teeth?  They don’t bite the grass; they grab it with their tongue, tearing it and tugging on the entire root system in the ground, enlivening microbes.  Did you know hoof action of animals gets those microbes in their hidden underground kingdom going crazy doing what they do – bringing nutrients to the root systems of the plants?  Come follow along in the wagon and see mob grazing bring all this action to life as animals are moved in a compact bunch multiple times over a small area to maximize grazing, animal hoof action, and organic matter fed to the ground.  Ask Farmer John questions and learn amazing things about the nature of animals and land.   Wagon tour for mob grazing event departs @ 3:30, 4:30, and 5:30; or view it as you walk on the walking path.
