Located in the heart of the Finger Lakes region, the Windmill Farm & Craft Market has become a premier tourist attraction and one of the largest markets in New York.
The Windmill first opened its doors on June 27, 1987, with just 64 vendors in two indoor buildings and 25 outdoor vendors. The next weekend on July 4, the founders of the Windmill saw their dreams come true as cars were backed up five miles down the road just waiting to get in. It’s popularity has only increased from there.
Over 30 years later, the Windmill now hosts over 200 vendors and shops with a weekly attendance surpassing 8,000 people each week.Opening day of the Windmill Farm & Craft Market is the last Saturday in April and the season ends the second Saturday in December.
From the moment you arrive at the market, you immediately smell the aroma of roasted peanuts and fresh caramel corn being made right before your eyes.
Be sure to make a stop at one (or many) of the food vendors located throughout the market. Start with a hearty breakfast and indulge in a perfectly-cooked burger for lunch. The Windmill offers plenty of picnic tables for guests to sit at.
Give in to those sweet treat cravings and sample freshly-made fudge, homemade candy or warm, gooey cookies fresh from the oven.
