More Than 200 Vendors Power the Windmill Experience
Located in the heart of the Finger Lakes region, the Windmill Farm & Craft Market has become a premier tourist attraction and one of the largest markets in New York.
The Windmill first opened its doors on June 27, 1987, with just 64 vendors in two indoor buildings and 25 outdoor vendors. The next weekend on July 4, the founders of the Windmill saw their dreams come true as cars were backed up five miles down the road just waiting to get in. It’s popularity has only increased from there.
Over 30 years later, the Windmill now hosts over 200 vendors and shops with a weekly attendance surpassing 8,000 people each week.Opening day of the Windmill Farm & Craft Market is the last Saturday in April and the season ends the second Saturday in December.
From the moment you arrive at the market, you immediately smell the aroma of roasted peanuts and fresh caramel corn being made right before your eyes.
Be sure to make a stop at one (or many) of the food vendors located throughout the market. Start with a hearty breakfast and indulge in a perfectly-cooked burger for lunch. The Windmill offers plenty of picnic tables for guests to sit at.
Give in to those sweet treat cravings and sample freshly-made fudge, homemade candy or warm, gooey cookies fresh from the oven.
Looking to do a little antiquing? Browse through many booths of rare collectibles, vintage antiques, jewelry and old board games you can’t find anywhere else. You can even get your antiques appraised for free!
What would a market be without dozens of fresh fruit and vegetables options to choose from? Meet some of the Windmill’s local vendors who provide the market with fresh, locally-grown produce every week. Take home a bushel of the summer’s sweetest berries or a bag full of delicious seasonal vegetables.
Spot the excellence of true craftsmanship as you walk through a variety of wooden furniture selections. Add a new set of chairs to the back deck, add a new table to the dining room or buy a wooden picture frame to showcase those cherished family memories.

You can also look for the perfect glassware, place mats, napkins and silverware from the market’s other artisan vendors.
You won’t be able to walk past some of the gorgeous floral arrangements the Windmill has to offer without wanting to take several home. Choose from a variety of blooming hanging baskets to add a pop of color to the patio or front porch.
Each year, the Windmill hosts two professionally judged custom and classic car shows. In addition to the small swap meet at each show, awards will be given to the top 46 vehicles and dash plaques will be given to the first 150 vehicles.
